We remember the life of a remarkable man, Fr. Amado “Picx “ Picardal, a man who dedicated his life to defending the rights of the poor and the oppressed. Fr. Pixc was not only a devoted priest but also a passionate activist who fought tirelessly for justice and human rights. 🕊️🕯️

Born with a calling that transcended the spiritual, Fr. Picx dedicated his life to defending the rights of the marginalized and the exploited. He recognized the struggles of the poor and the oppressed and chose to stand alongside them, offering his voice and his strength to their cause. His commitment to social justice was not just a duty but a profound expression of his faith.

Fr. Picx survived the brutality of Martial law under Ferdinand Marcos dictatorship with a spirit unbroken, and his resolve only strengthened. His experiences during this period shaped his lifelong mission: to fight for the dignity and rights of every human being, regardless of the risks involved.

Fr. Picx was also a vocal critic of former President Duterte’s war on drugs. He stood firmly against the extrajudicial killings and the violence that plagued our communities, speaking out with courage and conviction. He was a voice of reason and compassion in a time of fear, reminding us all of the sanctity of life and the importance of justice.

His activism was not limited to words; it was embodied in actions. Whether marching in the streets, comforting the bereaved, or offering sanctuary to those in need, Fr. Picx lived his principles every day. He showed us that true faith is not passive but active, not silent but outspoken.

As we remember Fr. Picx today, let us not only mourn his passing but also celebrate his life. Let us be inspired by his courage, his unwavering commitment to justice, and his deep compassion for people. He taught us that the fight for human dignity is a sacred duty, one that requires courage, sacrifice, and unwavering faith.

Fr. Picx may have left this world, but his legacy lives on in the hearts of those he touched and in the continued struggle for a just and humane society. Let us honor his memory by carrying forward his mission, by standing up for the poor and the oppressed, and by working tirelessly to defend the rights and dignity of every human being.

Rest in peace, Fr. Picx. Your light continues to guide us. ✨🌍
