On September 27, Balay Rehabilitation Center, Inc. marked its 39th anniversary, honoring the legacy of its founders, Jose “Ka Pepe” Diokno and Mita "Mamita" Pardo De Tavera. Established during the martial law era, Balay was formed to respond to the widespread human rights violations at the time and to provide psychosocial support to victims.

Over the years, Balay remained steadfast in its mission, despite persistent human rights challenges and social injustices. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to ending political violence and impunity, continuing its work to help victims and their families heal.
